Installing UltraGuard Fence Posts

Step 1: Survey the land for special features, obstructions, underground cables, and concrete from one-time argue. Be sure to follow all local building codes and obtain a building permit if necessary. If underground utility lines are present, contact your utility companies before digging.

Pace 2: Run string lines – push equally low to the ground as possible without distorting a direct line. (Avert tall grass, weeds)

Stride 3: Map location for holes – using 50′ or 100′ record measure, run along string line and spray with marking paint every 6′-0″ or 8′-0″ (the length of your fence sections). Employ a different mark to signify location of gate posts. (See Diagram 1)

Step iv: Dig post holes – remove cord line without moving stakes. Using a post pigsty digger or auger chip (8″ for 4″ posts, 10″ for five″ posts) dig down to proper depth while staying every bit plumb as possible. Echo for every 6′ or 8′  mark as well equally gate openings. Accuracy in depth helps to simplify installation.

Notation: Recommended depth of holes to be iii′-0″ minimum- bank check local codes and frostline as greater depths may be required.

Step 5: Re-run string line on original stakes (8″ to 12″ from high spot of basis.)

Step half-dozen: Set proper postal service in each hole (end, corner, line). Cleanup of some holes may exist necessary due to large rocks or roots. Some posts may need to exist cut. Use a level and hold the post in its desired location. (Bank check height, distance from the side by side post, distance from cord line, and plumb). Postal service should be kept at a slight distance from the string line then as not to deflect line. Use spacing jig as described in the full installation manual to aid in postal service spacing. Repeat until all posts are lightly fix (all the same adjustable).

Pace seven: To ensure a quality job, it is strongly recommended that all line posts be set up in physical. It is necessary to secure all corner, gate, and end posts in concrete. To exercise this, hold the post in place to preclude slippage. Fill remainder of hole around post with concrete to 3-4 inches below basis level. Be certain to work concrete into hole by shaking post. Make certain mail service is exactly where information technology should be. Continue filling all holes. Gate posts must be accurately measured and ready. Make any terminal adjustments and cover concrete with remaining dirt. (See Diagram 2)

Note: To prevent upwards-heaving posts, either apply a coarse file to roughen upwards the post or drill 3/4″ hole on each side of the postal service near the bottom.

How to Prevent Up-Heaving Posts

Step 8: Cry holes should be drilled in bottom of lower track, especially if posts are filled with concrete. Using a i/4″ drill bit that is four″ long (from drill chuck), drill three holes- one in heart and the other 2 at each cease of rail, approximately viii to 12 inches from the cease. Holes should be drilled from bottom and through both internal ribs in the rail. (See Diagram 3.) This will prevent wet from collecting in the rail and increase the longevity of your fence.

Prevent Moisture Buildup by Drilling Weep Holes

Step 9: Install pre-assembled debate sections. Starting from one cease, insert the lesser track into the start postal service, then follow with the mid and top rails. Push the runway into the routed hols until the notch engages properly. Moving to the complimentary end of the vinyl fencing section, stop installing the department into the 2nd mail service. Insert the bottom rail offset past firmly pushing the rails into the start post and so swing the free end upwards over the lesser pigsty in the 2d post. Push button the rail down until it snaps into the lower hole. Complete the installation past inserting mid and superlative rails.

Step 2: Locate the center point of the department and mark it with a pencil or piece of chalk as testify. For six′ fence sections, you desire roughly 35 seven/viii″. For 8′ sections, you want roughly 47 7/viii″.

Locate the Centers of Fencing Sections

Step iii: Using 1/2 of the measurement of "A" from Step 1, measure out from the eye mark on the rails and marking as shown below. Cut the rails and remove whatever pickets which are within ii 1/ii″ from the ends of the rails. (Note: Pickets are notched on the bottom and must be compressed with a clamp only in a higher place the notch to remove.)
